Can I rectify this in anyway?

I have recently set my daughters desktop back to factory settings. Installed the necessary drivers etc and every thing works fine except when I boot up the computer I get a black screen saying press F1 to continue or F2 to set up. After pressing F1 I get another black screen saying WindowXP Home which has a countdown I press enter and the computer starts normally. What can I do to avoid this. Its a Dell Dimension running Windows XP Home
