Preakness: Will this filly be able to rate?

I bet Pioneer in the Derby and, after some deliberation, am sticking with him for the Preakness. While Rachel Alexandra is a marvelous filly, I don't know if she will be able to deal with all the speed around her. These animals are much faster than the ones she's used to competing with. The early fractions were blazing in the KY Derby and are likely to be here again, so I agree the winner will have to rate. Pioneer actually did a great job in the Derby doing just that. If you look at the race that most of the horses competed in, Pioneer won that--Mine That Bird was competing in his own little race, though, and didn't let the rest of the field in on it until it was already over.
