Display is going out my laptop?

The first thing I would try is to go to the ati or ibm website and install the latest video (display) drivers. They may have fixed a known issue in their latest release. Look for other driver updates on the ibm website. If all doesn't work then it might be a hardware issue with the video card or battery.
